How do I know when it's time?

Is there anything that I need to do before you come?
The only thing we ask that you have prior to our arrival is a place in your home that you feel you and your pet will be most comfortable. Registration and planning forms should be completed in advance and your deposit should be processed. Visit the forms & payment page for further information.

What should I expect to happen?
Your pet will have two injections. The first will consist of a mild sedative to calm them and reduce their stress. The second will essentially be an overdose of anesthetic. We will give you some time alone with your pet. If cremation is elected, we will then take them with us to arrange this process.
I'm worried that my dog will react badly to strangers in my home. What can I do?
Please inform us of your concerns when making your arrangements. We offer several options to insure that this transition will be as stress free for your pet as possible.

In our experience, children under 10 usually do not understand the concept of death. It may be better to discuss the situation with older children prior to making a decision.

Our doctors arrange their schedules and often drive for long periods for an appointment. If you cancel close to your appointment time, the doctor may be well on their way already. In order to cancel an appointment, you must speak directly with a representative of Rainbow at Home due to the fact that voicemail messages may not be delivered in a timely manner. Please understand that the cancellation policy helps Rainbow at Home maintain our high standard of care and reliable service.
